Recently Free Spirit Acupuncture and Wellness welcomed Keythe Jayce Karpinski, LAc, to its team of talented Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners.
A native of Brecksville, Ohio, Karpinski earned a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Herbology from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver before going on to earn a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego. After that she served as doctor of oriental medicine in Morgantown, W. Va., before starting her own practice in Whitefish, Montana. There she provided patient care in acupuncture, traditional Chinese diagnosis and herbal medicine, mesotherapy, and massage therapy, as well as nutritional and lifestyle health counseling.
Karpinski specializes in treating fertility issues through acupuncture and was an early proponent of integrating acupuncture into IUI procedures. She says the success rate of acupuncture is very high for fertility, has less side effects than other treatments, also can be used in conjunction with hormone therapies. In addition, she is also interested in promoting better use of TCM for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), chronic pain management, opioid addiction, and post-stroke.
She says she’s excited to be back closer to home again. “I’ve missed the people, architecture, museums, warm water (instead of trying to swim in a glacial lake) and the food,” says Karpinski. “Bring on the pierogi and stuffed cabbage!” She’s also glad to have the opportunity to collaborate and consult with the rest of the folks at Free Spirit.
